"Thank you for your email and your query.
I have spoken to my relevant
colleagues in our technical department and they have advised
me that all French networks have restricted
all networks outside France sending sms to French networks.
My colleagues in our technical department have also advised
me that you will be charged for an sms when the sms is sent
from your phone. If you a receive an report back stating
that the sms has failed you will still be
charged for the sms.
We value you as a customer and apologize for any inconvenience
caused.
If you have any further queries please contact us.

Also, Meteor tut zwar so als würde
deine SMS verschickt - in der Werbung steht 9c pro Sms
in jedes Land - doch kannst du in gewisse Länder
(wie z.B. Frankreich) keine SMS verschicken.
Zahlen mußt du aber trotzdem! |

| Da sich es hier nicht um einen Einzelfall
handelt, bitte ich dich mir weitere Fälle zu melden.

Notice from Vodafone Ireland:

"We do not have an interworking agreement
to send text message's to some operators. This is until
an SMS interworking agreement is signed from all the other
operators world wide. Vodafone are currently working on
this agreement & would hope to have the situation
rectified asap. If an Vodafone customer is Roaming on
one of these networks however, they will be able to send
& receive text messages without any hassle. This is
why we don't publish text on this issue, as it does not
adversely affect Vodafone customers. This problem is still
ongoing."
"If you require further assistance please do not
hesitate to contact us on readytogo@vodafone.ie"
"Kind regards

Mitteilung von O2 (Digifone) Irland:
Notice from O2 (Digifone) Ireland:
+35386 |
3rd February 2003
Thank you for contacting O2 Customer Care by email. The
current cost of
sending international text messages is the same as sending
national messages. For Speakeasy subscribers the charge
is 11c per message during
the week and 8c per message at weekends.
However, a number of the international operators, including
France Telecom, SFR (France), Bouygues (France),
have blocked incoming international SMS pending the introduction
of an SMS interworking charge. This would result in an increase
in the cost of sending international messages for our subscribers.
We are currently
negotiating the terms of these agreements in an effort to
minimise the cost of the text messages for our subscribers.
Unfortunately, we do not have roaming agreements with
Virgin/One 2 One in Australia.
We have an agreement with E-Plus in Germany,
however the service
has not yet been established.
We hope the ability to text and roam on the E-Plus Network
will be available to our subscribers shortly.
Kind regards
Yvonne Keane
